Healthcare education reaches its highest purpose when universities, healthcare professionals, students and communities become partners in learning.

Yot Kom Missions International (YKMI) is a Ugandan global health organization based in Gulu, specializing in international clinical elective programmes, humanitarian healthcare, university partnerships, research and community-based health education. We partner with universities, healthcare institutions, professional organizations and communities to develop healthcare professionals who are clinically competent, culturally responsive, ethically grounded and prepared to lead in an increasingly interconnected world. Our flagship programme, Oral Health Uganda, is the operational foundation of our humanitarian and educational work.
To prepare compassionate healthcare professionals and strengthen communities by delivering world-class international clinical education, humanitarian health programmes, research, and collaborative partnerships that create lasting impact.
To become Africa’s leading community-based global health education platform, recognized internationally for excellence in clinical education, humanitarian healthcare, academic collaboration, and ethical global health partnerships.
Oral Health Uganda (OHU) is the flagship programme of Yot Kom Missions International and the operational foundation of our humanitarian and educational activities. Recognized for its commitment to improving access to oral healthcare, OHU now provides the foundation on which YKMI is expanding multidisciplinary healthcare education and international partnerships.
Each pillar strengthens the others. No programme at YKMI stands apart from the community it serves.

EducationbeforeActivity
Every programme is designed around meaningful learning outcomes.
PartnershipbeforePresence
We work with communities and institutions, never around them.
PatientsbeforeProgrammes
Patient dignity, safety, and wellbeing guide every decision.
HumilitybeforeExpertise
Every participant arrives prepared to learn.
QualitybeforeGrowth
We expand only while maintaining the highest standards.
ImpactbeforeNumbers
Success is measured by stronger professionals, stronger partnerships, and stronger communities.
International participants work alongside Ugandan healthcare professionals and students as members of integrated healthcare teams.
Rather than observing from the sidelines, participants become active learners within professionally supervised environments.
International participants gain exposure to diverse healthcare settings, while Ugandan students benefit from international collaboration, shared knowledge and professional exchange.
Communities are respected partners whose knowledge, resilience and lived experience enrich healthcare education, not training sites.
Supervised clinical learning, community engagement, humanitarian service, interprofessional collaboration, research, leadership development and cultural immersion, designed as one programme.
Programmes complement university curricula and strengthen existing healthcare systems through long-term partnerships rather than short-term interventions.
